The Tsunami

The Tsunami

100 feet high, traveling at 400 miles per hour. A majestic roll of water glides high above the typical sea level.

When a Tsunami approaches, there is little warning. Seismic shifts under the sea floor create an awesome force of nature.

Only the observant will be ready.

One sign can be a rapid recession of the shoreline. Thousands of gallons of water are pulled back into the mass that’s approaching.

Can you see the shoreline receding?

I wrote last time about the signs that preceded creation—emptiness and confusion. God is the same “yesterday, today, and forever” (Heb 13:8). But throughout scripture, He speaks of doing or making new things (Is 43:19, Rev 21:5). Inside that tension lies the mystery of God.

God works in patterns to give us indications and signals of what He is doing now and in the next season.

This year has been nothing less than formless. We have been found void of direction, clarity, and sometimes hope.

God doesn’t bring hopelessness. But he can strip us down to our essential elements.

In those moments you might find your hope was placed in something that doesn’t last. You’re left with nothing to lean on—except Him.

You’ll be standing on the beach completely exposed—wondering where the water went.

But here’s the secret: a big wave is coming!

There is a coming wave of the Spirit. It is going to break past manmade shorelines and saturate the Earth with the Good News. I believe we’re going to hear words like “outpouring” and “revival”. Not as clichés or hopeful dreams of the future—as reality for where we actually are.

Will you go where the water takes you, or will you resist?

The breakdown indicates the size of the outpouring. And the breakdown has been massive—bigger than we’ve seen in 50 years.

He made us raw so we would be ready.
He made us bare so we could really believe again.
We’ve been made nothing so He can be the only thing.

Don’t let the old junk back in or worry about the frivolous things. “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness” (Matt 6:33) and you’ll have what you need.

A wave is coming. Will you be ready?

“Deep calls to deep at the roar of your waterfalls; all your breakers and your waves have gone over me.”
– Ps 42:7

Caleb Agee

I am a father to 3 powerful littles and married to my best friend. My wife says I'm proficient in quoting The Office, a jack of all trades and I am convinced that popcorn with apple juice is the best remedy for a hard day. No judgment! I spend my days brainstorming and perfecting good communication with a team of passionate creatives. And I believe that being in relationship with the Father should be, and is, simple. I'll spend my whole life on Him and never regret a single moment. Won’t you join me?
